World of Tanks

I am not a gamer, but I am married to one and have a dozen of friends who either play or are also married to gamers. Lest I be misunderstood, I do not condone “excessive” gaming as it becomes habitual then addictive (just like spending so much time browsing the internet and making FB, Twitter and other social networks our own backyards!). Everything is permissible but not everything is beneficial (1Corinthians 10:23).

Anyway, World of Tanks (WOT) is one game (more of that here ) that my husband and son enjoyed playing together. Especially when dad is away, they catch up online and meet at a scheduled time. You might say I am the coolest wife and mom ever for being oh-so-supportive with my loves’ interests, but actually, I am far from that! hahaha! Because I am not a gamer, I hardly appreciate all these stuff but because I learned to accept that this is a “man thing- bonding time” despite the physical separation, then I am learning to appreciate it.

These tanks from the WOT are the ones I imagined when I read these verses today:

“If anyone does attack you, it will not be my doing;
whoever attacks you will surrender to you.

“See, it is I who created the blacksmith
who fans the coals into flame
and forges a weapon fit for its work.
And it is I who have created the destroyer to wreak havoc;

no weapon forged against you will prevail,..” – Isaiah 54:15-17a .

As heirs to the throne (no, I wont be writing about Game of Thrones here! ) of the True King, we have that power to declare victory each day. Remember that whenever the tanks of the enemy are being positioned and are made ready to fire at you, declare that they will not prevail!

if your health is being fired at, remember your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit  – the enemy’s weapon shall not prevail!

if you have financial difficulties, work and patiently wait for the breakthrough to come – the enemy’s weapon shall not prevail!

if your relationships need mending, don’t get tempted to back away and bear grudges with people who hurt you  – the enemy’s weapon shall not prevail!

if you are tempted to put your Bible-reading at a later time or not join in fellowship with believers because you felt you need that rest today, your “me” time  – the enemy’s weapon shall not prevail!

Guess what, I have been in several occasions as I have written above and many times, I declared – “the enemy’s weapon shall not prevail!”

The Word goes on to say –

“…and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
    and this is their vindication from me,”declares the Lord.

Rejoice with the truth that no matter how the enemy tries to fire away weapons of massive destruction, it will not succeed! Jesus has won it all for us some 2,000 years ago.  And just like Paul, we can say, ” Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.” (Phil3:12) . Every day is an opportunity to see God’s hand winning each battle for us. Declare the victory!
